CIVIL ENGINEER | PROJECT MANAGER

We are seeking a Civil Engineer with a background in civil design and 5+ years of
experience. We are seeking someone who is committed to delivering an excellent experience
for our clients, internal and external. This individual will be responsible for carrying out a
long-term site improvement programs for major utility clients and private development
clients. The ideal candidate will have good client interaction skills, a demonstrated ability to
manage internal and external project teams on critical schedules, as well as strong time
management and communication skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating project meetings with clients and consultants to develop suitable design
    drawings.
  • Develop cost-effective design layouts based on construction specifications and
    requirements.
  • Analyze design issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform civil design analysis and calculations according to project requirements.
  • Perform field surveys and investigations to prepare engineering drawings.
  • Prepare a full set of working drawings.
  • Review project plan and determine the design feasibilities and constraints.
  • Use latest software and technologies to develop effective designs.
  • Consider health, safety and environmental requirements when developing civil designs.
  • Manage design projects within allotted timelines and budgets.
  • Perform design changes and improvements according to changing project demands.
  • Stay abreast with latest developments with civil design fields.
  • Provide assistance to design and construction teams.
  • Facilitate permit submittal to various cities and agencies.
  • Manage project coordination with structural and geotechnical engineers.
  • Effectively communicate status updates, document flow and permit status with Project
  • Management team, General Contractors, and other consultants.
  • Ensure that permit related files, data, documents, plans and reports are properly
    prepared to be submitted for review/approval.
  • Review submittals and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Other tasks as assigned by director

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Familiarity working on a multiple-site improvement programs.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience creating large scale existing conditions site plans, for site improvement
    projects.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented.
  • Professional Engineer License (desired).
  •  Knowledge of California building codes.
  • Revit and Autocad
  • Bluebeam Review or Plan Grid
  • MS Office
  • BS Degree in Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or similar.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of engineering experience
  • 3+ years experience as Project Manager a plus

Senior Project Manager

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with 10 – 15 years of experience. As a Senior Project Manager, you will report directly to the firm owners and be involved in key decision-making processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Licensed architect in California with a Bachelors or Masters in architecture
  • 10 years of experience (15 preferred) with at least 5 years as the responsible Project Manager for large scale projects
  • Advanced skills with Revit Building Design Suite and AutoCAD
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Office, Excel, Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and 3D rendering software strongly preferred

An ideal candidate has:

  • Technical ability to oversee the design and production of complex, large-scale ($10 million+) projects (aviation/transportation, commercial & residential experience preferred)
  • Revit expertise: experience leading and managing the production of projects in Revit and the ability to develop/manage Revit standards
  • Leadership skills and ability to manage/coach other staff and consultants in the design and production of drawings in a fast paced work environment
  • Great writing skills and the ability to assist principals and business development team with technical writing for presentations, RFP responses, and other business correspondence
  • Oral presentation skills – experience with client interviews and leading both internal and external meetings
  • Possess strong communication skills, time management, and a self-driven work ethic

PROJECT ARCHITECT

Reporting directly to the principals, this position consists of the direct day-to-day management of projects, design and production. Looking for someone with good client interaction skills, a demonstrated ability to manage internal and external project teams on critical schedules, as well as strong time management and communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience, including at least 3+ years verifiable experience as a Project Architect or Project Manager
  • Documented Experience leading various project types. Knowledgeable with all building types.
  • Comprehensive understanding of building systems, constructability, detailing and how to properly document these items within well-coordinated construction documents. *We will request that candidates bring examples of their work to interviews.
  • Proficiency with Revit Modeling Systems (a test will be administered) and a proven track record of managing production for both Revit and AutoCAD based projects.
  • Proven ability and willingness to help develop successful client contact, including understanding client needs and maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Office, Excel, Outlook)
  • Professional Licensure as a California Architect required.

REVIT DESIGNER

AE3 is seeking a Designer with 5+ years of experience working at an architectural firm. The ideal candidate is technically proficient and has a minimum of five years actual project experience with Revit. Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Project Manager and other team members on different aspects of the project, including schematic design, space planning, design development, and construction documentation
  • Participate in programming and planning, and the selection of finishes, materials, furniture systems, and specifications
  • Utilize visualization, graphics, and presentation skills to effectively communicate the project design
  • Provide design support and documentation throughout the design phases of the project
  • Provide production assistance for construction documents required for permit and construction
  • Assist in aspects of project coordination with the team and contractors during construction administration

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited school
  • At least five years of experience working in an architectural firm, working in Revit, creating renderings, and working on various elements of design
  • Technical Skills must include proficiency in Revit, Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design), various 3D modelling software programs, MS Office, and Newforma
  • Working knowledge of Standards in Revit (test will be given)
