African American Holistic Resource Center
The African American Holistic Resource Center (AAHRC) is a major community initiative and investment by the City of Berkeley to address the issues associated with inequities and disparities that negatively affect its population. The AAHRC will provide advocacy, support, and referral services on an array of overall health, mental wellness, educational issues, legal matters, cultural, social, and recreational issues in a welcoming, supportive, healing environment that empowers Berkeley’s Black community.
The AAHRC is a new ground-up infill project centrally located in a historic African American neighborhood. The facility is slated to be a state-of-the-art green building, ranging in size from 5000 - 6000 square feet. As of the beginning of 2025, AE3 is currently in the planning review/entitlement phase with regular meetings with community members and the City of Berkeley. Its current program includes, but is not limited to, a multipurpose room, library, medical screening room, therapy offices, classrooms, dance studio, game room, kitchen, and an office with a reception area.
