Barbara Lee Center for Social Justice & Civic Engagement
The Barbara Lee Science and Allied Health Center adapts a 2,300 SF prime ground floor corner of the Congresswoman’s namesake building in Merritt College into a highly adaptable state of the art event, outreach and education center. Its main space can flex from a 50 person classroom to a 100-person auditorium and has dramatic views of the San Francisco Bay Area. Additional, smaller conference rooms joined by moving glass wall systems by NanaWalls can be used as separate break out areas.
All spaces are equipped with the latest AV technology to allow for broadcast quality coverage for presentation and media events. Additional offices accommodate the Congresswoman and her team when on site and store her collections and records. Museum quality display cases, a 50’ mural and a video wall further showcase her achievements and legacy, as well as those of her community. An additional support space will accommodate catering for larger events.
